英文历史档案翻译刍议——关于民国档案抢救保护与数字化的思考

摘要

以往的档案数字化研究很少专门对英文历史档案的整理与翻译工作展开讨论。本文通过安徽省档案局民国档案抢救保护与数字化工作中的翻译实例,从历史档案的特性、翻译的目的和策略等方面探讨了档案英文材料的翻译实践和理论问题,对互联网时代外文历史档案的整理与翻译工作提出了新的思考与建议。

Abstract

Most studies in the digitalization of archives have paid little attention to the practice of translating historical documents and records in another language, while scholars in translation have mainly focused on the technicality in historical archives translation, of which the strategy and purpose remain largely undiscussed. This paper uses live examples from the practice of digitalization, restoration and protection of archives from the Republic of China in Anhui, to discuss both theoretically and practically on the problem of historical archives translation, with new speculations and suggestions for the management of archives in the new age of Internet.
